Make a simple sketch and measure what you want to light. A balcony needs a width and a drop; a façade needs a route along its edges; a freestanding figure needs room around it. Record the distance to the intended power source separately.
Check whether the product is described for indoor use, outdoor use or both. The lights and their power supply or controller may have different protection ratings.
02
Choose the shape.
String lights
A flexible starting point for following lines, framing a display or decorating a tree.
Icicle lights
A horizontal line with shorter hanging drops, often chosen for edges and window displays.
Curtain lights
A width of longer drops. Check both dimensions and the number of drops.
Net lights
A defined grid of light where available in the selected outdoor collections. Match the overall dimensions to the area you want to cover.
Figures & panels
A focal point for a display. Check dimensions, intended use and power requirements.
03
Find your colour.
Warm white creates a softer visual mood; white and multicolour offer different starting points. Use the written product specification rather than the photograph alone. Camera settings and screens can change how a light appears.
Where the product gives a colour temperature in kelvin, keep that value in mind when combining sets. Do not assume two products described simply as white have the same colour temperature.
04
Read the small details.
Look for the voltage, power source, controller, IP rating and cable information. An outdoor-rated light string does not automatically mean its controller or plug can be exposed in the same way. Follow the instructions for every part of the system.
Check the product-specific dimensions, cable information and connector details before ordering. Ask about anything that is not clearly specified.
05
Plan the connections.
Connectability belongs to a specific system. Check the connector type, permitted number of sets, maximum total length and maximum electrical load. A product photo or a similar-looking plug cannot establish compatibility.
For a larger display, send the product codes and approximate layout to our team before ordering. We can help you identify the relevant product information and compatibility details before you order.
